My specialism as Jungian analyst
I specialise in working with dreams, painting and active imagination. I particularly enjoy working with symbols that appear in dreams, art work, and active imagination. As spontaneous forms, they can create a bridge to disassociated, unconscious emotions. Such forms can appear initially in animal form as the first manifestation to be described and assimilated. Blocked energy sitting as painful symptoms in the body is released through such differentiation, and any split between the psyche and soma can be healed through this method in order to develop a stronger sense of self which includes dissociated states.
Jungian psychoanalysis offers a unique way of working with unconscious intergenerational complexes, for example, personal and/or parental trauma, that can interfere with everyday functioning when such traumatic states as complexes are not differentiated and assimilated. This work is accomplished mainly through working with dreams and other spontaneous creative expressions emanating from the unconscious, such as in art and active imagination.
I address such symptomology such as generalised anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, self-harm and depression. As I am from Wales, UK, and lived in Germany for many years, I offer analysis in both English and German. I am interested in issues of being uprooted, of feeling homesick, of crossing cultural borders, and how through working with unconscious processes one can feel at home and hopeful in a culture which is not your own and still find your way.
conflict resolution through symbols
I like working with symbols in the way that they manifest themselves through dreams, artistic work and active imagination. As spontaneous images, they can form bridges to disassociated unconscious emotions. Such images may initially appear in animal guises, as describing and assimilating the first manifestations of blocked emotions. Unconscious energy that appears first as painful symptoms in the body is liberated through this differentiation. In this way, the split between psyche and in body can be healed. A stronger and securer sense of self develops through the assimilation of such hidden or disassociated states of consciousness.
dreams
Psychoanalysis according to C. G. Jung provides a unique method of work with the unconscious. This includes intergenerational complexes, such as personal traumata or those related to parents, which impact daily life if these dramatic complexes are not differentiated and assimilated. This work is mainly achieved through work with dreams and other spontaneous creative expressions, which originate from the unconscious, for example, in art and active imagination.
